COVID vaccine overdose: Contractor ‘on notice for termination’ after doctor’s Brisbane bungle

The Federal Government says it has “thrown the book” at a contractor that employed a doctor who incorrectly administered the COVID vaccine.

Two elderly Queensland nursing home residents were given up to four times the recommended dosage of the Pfizer vaccine, it was first revealed on Wednesday.

The doctor who administered the vaccine was employed by Healthcare Australia.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt on Thursday said the private contractor was “on notice of termination”.

“They were reviewing their practices this morning,” he said.
